Hello Everyone,
Tom McGurn here. I attended St. Joe's from kindergarten to midway through our Freshman year (when my family moved to Guilderland). Graduated from GCHS, went to SUNYA, married the love of my life Debbie, started teaching social studies at Albany High (by the time of the reunion I'll have begun my 29th year), have two children (Matt and Meaghan).
I can't believe the number of times during the day I think about SJA. The education we received there has played a crucial role in my life. I can't imagine how our instructors were able to teach 50+ kids in one class (don't even attempt to try this today). I seem to refer to almost everything we learned (from sentence diagramming to multiplication tables -what the kids call old person math) on a daily basis.
I'm very excited to see friends I haven't seen in (can't believe) almost 40 years. I'd also like to thank the committee of dedicated people who made this possible.
Well, off to the treadmill to lose this unfortunate 20 lbs by Sept.8,
